According to details; a Chinese citizen An Yanshi believed that panda poo is the key ingredient to produce the world’s most expensive tea, what he called ‘Panda Tea’ whose logo features a smiling panda wearing a bow tie and holding a steaming glass of green tea.

An yanshi, 41, has purchased 11 tonnes of Panda dung from a panda breeding centre to fertilize a tea crop in the mountains of Sichuan province in southwestern China, home to the black and white bears.

An Yanshi - a calligraphy teacher at Sichuan University – has left his job to dedicate himself for this project for which he has planted the tea crop on just over a hectare (2.5 acres) of land. An not only hopes to make money from the tea but he aims to convince the world to protect the environment and replace chemical fertilizers with animal extracts, before it is too late.

Diffus’ new solar-powered handbag allows you to charge your mobile phone. Plus, it helps bid goodbye to those frantic night-time searches for keys, combs, lip balms and so on, because every time you open the bag, the integrated fiber optics inside are activated and the bag lights up.

For a change, the solar-powered character of this Diffus handbag is not hidden away in its folds and stitches. The black carryall boasts new-age chic thanks to the copper-framed solar cells and exposed wiring that adds a new dimension to what might have been just another big bag. What happens here is that the most efficient photovoltaic cells available today, which are made out of monocrystalline silicone, have been transformed into oversized sequin-like elements. This makes it unlike other solar materials, which have a much smaller surface area.

Now, when these oversized sequin-like cells are exposed to sunlight, they can generate power of up to 2 watts. Of course, as solar cells become more and more efficient, these could generate still more power and we could have more such energy-efficient bags.

These luxurious creations of John Looser are created in Toronto and buzzing around the circles of Canadian bird lovers. These are totally handmade creations using reclaimed wood that adds exclusivity to these beautiful bird houses. 

Looser’s largest bird mansion is 9 feet by 9 feet in size. Few of his creations sometimes take weeks to complete the project that exactly matches his imagination and standard.

Liverpool’s Stuart Hughes has collaborated with HEBANON by Fratelli Basile Interiors of Nocera Superiore to present the most exclusive bed ever, the Baldacchino Supreme.

The Baldacchino Supreme certainly has a royal feel about it. Why wouldn’t it? 107kg of 24-karat gold went into its making. The bed and canopy has been lacquered, patinated and sponge batted using this ridiculous quantity of gold. You will find intricate gold leaf detail and the headboard is a work of art.

Chestnut wood forms the main structure, ash wood is used for the curving and cherrywood forms the edges of the canopy. For the fabric, Stuart Hughes and HEBANON zeroed in on Italian silk and cotton with no burn certification. Moreover, buyers can customize the fabric and the decorations.

The Baldacchino Supreme is one of those rare specimens that brings royalty within everyone’s grasp. Did I say “everyone”? I meant all those people who can afford to shell out £4 million (about $6.3 million) for a bed. Yes, that is how much this beauty of a bed costs. Moreover, it is a highly limited edition. Stuart Hughes has announced that only two Baldaccio Supremes will be made.

Driving in style just got gilded in 24-karat gold. A wealthy Chinese businessman has had a Fiat 500C custom-made for him by Italian tuning firm Fenice Milano. The Italian firm went all out to create the La Dolce Vita Gold and Diamonds 200hp. And yes, the car is gilded in 24-karat gold and adorned with diamonds. It practically takes you back to the time of the Indian maharajas.

On first impression, the Gold and Diamonds Fiat appears to be a white car with gold trimmings. Look closer. The white paint actually has a golden tinge to it. This is because the paint contains 24-karat gold particles. The hood on top has fabric finished with gold thread. Gold makes its appearance on the full-grain leather seats as well.

The interiors of the car have made generous use of teak inserts, diamonds and leather. Teak and leather make up the wheel, with gold embellishments adding to the effect. One of the star attractions of the Gold and Diamonds 200hp is the driving console. Here the instrument panel is gilded and the dashboard boasts of inserts of gold and teak.

An additional USP of the car is the Apple iPad Supreme Edition designed by Liverpool-based Stuart Hughes. The iPad is placed on the upper end of the central console and is fitted with GPS, an audio system and Wi-Fi connectivity.

And there’s more. The Gold and Diamonds Fiat has had its regular engine upgraded. Car engines modification expert Romeo Ferraris tweaked the engine of the gold Fiat. So the €500,000 car that will be heading to China will be armed with a complete exhaust system, an ECU tune and an engine kit fitted with a new turbine.

Certainly, this car with the golden exterior and an engine that’s worth its weight in gold could find a place in Ralph Lauren’s celestial garage.

Electrification is the new buzzword among car makers everywhere. Recently, Russian billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov introduced Yo, a new line of hybrid cars that is scheduled to start retailing from 2012. The tribe of hybrid vehicles is fast increasing. Growing focus on the need to lower one’s carbon footprint has even luxury car manufacturers trudging the green mile. Hybrid cars are the name of the new game and the latest to join this bandwagon is Audi. The car maker recently introduced the new Audi A6 and its green counterpart, the A6 Hybrid.

Finally, here is a luxurious alternative to the tried-and-tested Prius. According to Audi, the A6 Hybrid isn’t just another run-of-the-mill attempt at a hybrid car. It comes fitted with Audi’s award-winning 211 hp, 2-liter TFSI gas engine. Throw in a 45 hp electric motor and a 1.3kWh battery for a total power of 245 hp. Not bad for a car in this segment. Audi has put thought into making the A6 a lightweight, yet sturdy, car. Enter aluminium and special steels. The heavy Quattro system has pulled a vanishing act, with the car manufacturer preferring a lighter front-wheel drive.

The A6 scores on the tech scale with GPS based headlights, optional MMI navigation and a heads-up display. The latter ensures that the driver can view customised content without having to refocus while driving. Hopefully, the car will hit the stores soon, so that consumers can finally lay their hands on a green vehicle that’s luxurious to its core.

SLS AMG E-Cell: Next-gen Electric Vehicle Unveiled by Mercedes-Benz at Detroit 2011

Mercedes-Benz has finally unveiled its next-gen electric vehicle, the SLS AMG E-Cell at Detroit 2011. The vehicle features four synchronous electric motors that provide a combined output of a whopping 525hp and 649lbs-ft of torque. The SLS AMG E-Cell features its motors mounted close to each wheel, which improves car handling.

The company has stated that the vehicle can hit a speed of 60mph in just 3.7 seconds and reach a speed of 130mph in less than 12 seconds. Power comes from lithium-ion batteries which also get recharged with the help of a regenerative braking system.
