Luxe Layers Protective Blow Out Gel by Celebrity Hairstylist Sally Hershberger

You must have heard of the celebrity hairstylist Sally Hershberger. Yep, you heard it right, this is the same woman who charges a glorious $800 for a haircut. Well, now she has developed a hair product which she promoted via a not-so-unique campaign. Apparently, a few lucky bloggers were invited to her downtown NYC salon on September 3 to unveil the Luxe Layers Protective Blow Out Gel.

Available at HSN, Luxe Layers is very easy to use. All you have to do is pump it a few times, rub the fluid in your hands and then simply apply it gently to your hair. A great way to protect your hair against heat damage. Plus it also seals against color wash-out. You can consider your precious tresses safe from all sorts of sun and environmental aggressions.

We are told that this proprietary complex of cationic polymers, natural cellulose and several amino acids balanced with silk and cashmere extracts. The good part is that it’s alcohol-free, not tested on animals and not silicone based. The price is right at $18 for 5 oz.

TETRIS HAIRSTYLE - - A TRIBUTE TO TETRIS

Some people like to show their affection for their favorite video games through their home decor, quirky t-shirts or even tattoos; this guy decided to go his own way and get a Tetris hair style.

For the Tetris hair style, the multicolored blocks were etched into the side of his head and the ends of his long hair were died green, blue, orange, and red.

Some might see this geektastic hair as a more suitable tribute to Tetris, as it is extreme but not quite as permanent as a tattoo.

RETRO ROCKER HAIRSTYLES BACK IN FASHION - - PHOTOSHOOT FOR ABBEY LEE KERSHAW

Vogue Nippon is helping bring back heavy bangs thanks to Abbey Lee Kershaw who made the retro rocker hairstyle look oh-so-chic in the editorial, Sweet Child of Mine.

After celebs like Zooey Deschanel, Kate Moss, Liv Tyler, Jlo and Jessica Alba started sporting heavy bangs, more people dared to adopt this look for their own manes, which is a big step as this hairstyle was considered on the, well, fringe, for the last decade or so.

The Vogue Nippon Sweet Child of Mineshoot was photographed by Terry Richardson, Abbey Lee Kershaw was styled by George Cortina and makeup and hair were done by Mark Carrasquillo and Jimmy Paul respectively.

JESSICA ALBA'S FEATHERED HEADBAND

Jessica Alba knows a thing or two about being glamorous on the red carpet. But this past year she has been discovering a whole new type of style -- "mommy chic." One thing that all new moms learn pretty quickly is that having hair in your face while trying to run after your kids is no fun. Jessica is a huge fan of headbands, yet her picks are anything but basic and ordinary. Everything from feathers to ribbons have adorned her pulled-back hairline. Running errands around Los Angeles with her adorable daughter Honor, she sported a cute Stella Accessories feathered headband that added just a touch of whimsy to her jeans-and-tank style. To get the look, mom or not, you can get the Madison headband by Stella Accessories which retails for $42.

COLOURFUL HAIRSTYLE

Easter is still a few months away, but Vogue China is raving about Anna Sui’s tremendous use of color in a past show fashion show.

While other magazines are looking to next season’s collections by designers who paraded their spring/summer looks down their runways, rich in color fit for the Easter Bunny, Vogue China was looking back to 2007. Not only were Anna Sui’s fashions bursting with color, but she had her models strut down the catwalks with colored hair. The gallery shows a few looks Vogue China put together, which includes everything from electric cobalt blue locks to softly streaked mains in pastel shades.

LADY GAGA IN TOKYO

Lady Gaga performed an acoustic version of ‘Poker Face’ on a talk show in Tokyo last night and while her performance was great, what is more notable is the newest innovation in Lady Gaga hair.

The Lady Gaga hair accessory (which, if you look close, is shaped to be an elephant) for this appearance is a wild style for the singer—not that it is completely unexpected. Just when you think Lady Gaga can’t find any more crazy outfits, she shapes her hair to look like an elephant!
