Actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died of apparent drug overdose: NYPD source

Academy award winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman found dead in his Manhattan apartment, according to NYC police. He was 46.

According to further details; Hoffman's body was discovered by one of his personal assistants at about 11:35 am Sunday in the bathroom of his apartment. Apparently the cause of the death is drug overdose as his body was found with a hypodermic needle still in his arm.
