After making waves last year with the A2B electric assist bicycle, Ultra Motor has announced a new version of the electric bicycle that does away with pedals and integrates a much powerful battery system. The new scooter, dubbed A2B Excel weighs around 41kg and has a range of about 45km.
The A2B Excel has a top speed of 45kph and uses the company’s dual-battery “Intelligent Dual Energy Power” system to achieve 45km on a single charge. The electric scooter has 20-inch tires, front and rear disc brakes, rear suspension, a head light, turn signals, tail light and a circular display to show speed, trip distance and the amount of charge left in the batteries.
In addition to the pedal-free Excel, the company has also added a new hybrid version of the A2B, dubbed A2B Hybrid 24. Both the new models will be available in the UK in spring 2010. The A2B Excel will cost about $4845 and the Hybrid 24 will be available at a price of $2900.
