HP has announced that it is now shipping a new budget notebook in time for the holiday shopping season. The new notebook is called the HP G62m series and it is a basic machine with a price of $429.99 to start with. The machine has several options that will drive the price up over the starting point.
The notebook runs a variety of Intel Celeron processors with options including the Celeron 900, T3300, and T3500. The notebook can be fitted with up to 4GB of RAM and storage up to 500GB. Graphics are Intel GMA 4500M with HDMI out and VGA outputs.
The screen of the notebook is a 15.6-inch LED backlit unit with a resolution of 1366 x 768. The optical drive includes an 8x DVD burner or an optional LightScribe enabled drive. Other features include a memory card reader, WiFi, and Bluetooth.
