No matter how clean you keep your home or office, small airborne particles do contaminate the air. If this continues and becomes worse, then your health can be severely affected. The dust particles are capable of causing asthma, bronchitis and even lung cancer. In order to help you detect the presence of airborne particles in your home or office, researches at Tel Aviv University (TAU) have recently developed a sensor called ‘Dust Alert’, which is based on a portable chemical analyzer called a spectrophotometer.
When you want to measure the contamination levels in terms of dust, pollen and toxins of a particular place in your home or office, simply place the ‘Dust Alert’ in the desired place for three weeks to give you the best assessment of air quality. The device functions almost like a chemistry lab and it can precisely determine the chemical compositions of the toxins.
No doubts the device is useful for those who have dust allergy but it can also be most useful in difficult situations such as chemical fires, heavy dust storms, hurricanes or bomb blasts, etc. Most often the survivors of these catastrophes are not aware of the lingering environmental problems due to lack of accurate tools to define the risk involved.
Dust Alert can help the residents vacate their homes until the air is purified. As much as technology becomes advanced, the air pollution too increases to a greater eight and hence, it is very important to have ‘Dust Alert’ to develop ‘dust maps’. This is a great device to keep the environment dust-free, which will help many stay away from many diseases.
