SCOOT COUPE - - ENJOY THE RIDE

Resort towns across the United States are now renting out Scoot Coupes. The popular three-wheeled vehicles are out to give vacationers something different from the usual Segway and moped experience. The GPS-enabled Coupes have been extremely popular in Hawaii, but are still facing some opposition everywhere else.

Scoot Coupes are classified as motorized mini-bikes and as such aren’t allowed to run on state-run roads. Despite this limitation, some lawmakers are worried that they may pose a risk to larger vehicles, in addition to naturally themselves. I’d imagine Scoot Coupes would be difficult to spot from all the way up a Tahoe.

Still, the safety features on Scoot Coupes are difficult to ignore – overhead bars, high visibility lighting, emergency flashers, all-wheel disc brakes and safety belts. Renting one will set you back $40. What’s more, an electric version is in the works.

No doubt, Scoot Coupes are cool to look at and it’s probably fun viewing resort cities from all the way down there. Will the Coupes see other parts of the United States soon? As long as the rest of the United States sees the Coupes too, there shouldn’t be any problems.
