Beatles mania lives on even after so many years. What more proof does one need about the iconic status the band enjoys even today among the music lovers. Just to mark 40th anniversary of ‘Abbey Road’ album, hundreds of fans landed up on Abbey Road on Saturday. A tribute band also recreated the famous photo by walking across the very same crossing on Abbey Road where Beatles had strode for the picture of their album cover.
Beatles and creative designers of the album too may not have expected that out of box last minute thinking of using a picture of the famous four walking down the crossing at Abbey Road as album cover would get such recurrent appreciation from the fans. It seems ever since the album ‘Abbey Road’ became a hit, it has been a sort of pilgrimage spot for the Beatles fans. Fans often photograph themselves walking across the road.
For Beatles too it was a sort of last walk together across to the now famous Abbey Road recording studio since ‘Abbey Road’ was the last album they recorded together. No doubt for their fans it has become a spot to converge and pay tribute to the iconic band.
