Christmas Special Gift for MJ Fans: King of Pop's Album to Be Out on Christmas Eve

King of Pop’ Michael Jackson was writing and recording new songs just days before his death and the posthumous album will be out this Christmas.

Sony Music has released the stunning artwork for the album, simply called ‘Michael’, and confirmed the collection of new songs will be released on December 13.

“Unbeknownst to many fans around the world Michael Jackson was writing and recording songs continuously everywhere from a friend’s home in New Jersey to studios in Las Vegas and Los Angeles with a small group of handpicked collaborators,” said a statement released by the record label.

“Now, through the unique stories that will be told about the songs that comprise Michael, fans will get mind—blowing insight into how this artist worked and a chance to hear the songs he most recently created along with tracks that Michael had a desire to bring to fruition,” added the statement.

But the record company was keeping the lid on any further details, refusing to reveal the collaborators or the number of tracks.

Only one song, recorded in 2007 and entitled Breaking News, was named and will be streamed on the official Michael Jackson website from next week.

The psychedelic artwork for the album pays royal tribute to the ‘Thriller’ hit maker, who died from an overdose of prescription drugs in June 2009.

The pop icon was the highest earning celebrity of 2010, with an estimated haul of USD 240 million.

The ‘Black or White’ hit maker’s music shot back into the charts following his sudden death in June, 2009 at the age of 50.
