Retrofit Peephole: With a Fully Electronic 1.3 Megapixel Camera Based Micro Porthole - - Safety at Your Doorstep

So we’re thinking you’re probably fed up of squinting through that tiny hole in your door, and you’re thinking…I wish there was a better way. Well there is. Kinda. This Retrofit Peephole replaces the simple organic as nature intended lens system with a fully electronic 1.3 megapixel camera based micro porthole.

The benefits should be obvious. Not only do you get to see those baby kissing doorstepping politicians in full colour on a 2.5 inch LCD, but when the batteries go flat, you won’t have to answer the door at all. Just plead peephole incapacity. The landlord will forgive. $129.95. And hey, it’s got zoooom too.

Replacing your existing peephole, its lens provides a wide 96º field of view, and it uses a 1.3 megapixel CMOS, the same image sensor employed by digital cameras. When you turn it on, the image of the person standing outside your door is displayed on the device’s 2 1/2″ TFT screen, allowing adults–even children who may not be able to reach a standard peephole–to clearly see who is visiting.
