The times, they are changing. Recession and environment seem to be looming large on the minds of designers and buyers. At the recently concluded Milan International Furniture Fair, most designers came up with eco-friendly and affordable furniture. These are signs of changing trends and which is good in a way because elegant, exclusive line of eco-friendly furniture need not be very expensive. This is an innovative shift because most high end consumers too prefer eco-friendly and green products.
What really matters is the green factor and exclusive designs and there were many designers who blended the two and came up with awesome furniture for elite green homes. Most furniture had nature theme and were crafted out of wood and metal while Italian designers like De Castelli experimented with wrought iron furniture which could even be used as planters. German Michael Koening of Picto displayed metallic tree sculpture for urban living spaces to send out a green message.
There were also brands like Armani, Missoni, Versace and Bottega Veneta displaying their luxurious collection but clearly eco-friendly and affordable designer furniture stole the show at Milan Expo. It is good news are eco-friendly furniture are becoming stylish, artistic, exclusive and yet affordable.
