Intel has taken the wraps off a new Classmate PC, the Intel Classmate Convertible Netbook, and as you can see from the photo, this new model is a fully convertible tablet.
The new Intel Classmate Convertible Netbook is designed to feature low power consumption with an Intel Atom processor and a 10.1 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600.
Other specifications include integrated WiFi, plus the option to add 3G, GPS or WiMAX. The screen swivels 180 degrees transforming it from a netbook to a tablet PC, and the keyboard, screen and touch pad are designed to be water resistant.
The Intel Classmate Convertible Netbook is also shock proof and the screen is scratch resistant. There are no details as yet on pricing or any details on when the Intel Classmate Convertible Netbook is likely to turn up in schools around the world.
