"i.MX51 Tablet Device" From Freescale - - An Ideal Tablet That Suits Your Budget For Only $199

With the exponential increase in the number of mobile internet devices in the market and the slated launch of some of the most anticipated tablets, such as the Apple iPad, there has been a huge demand for a budget device, preferably a tablet that would be low on price and high on efficiency. Some time ago, there was the much talked about CrunchPad that was believed to have carried a price tag of $200, when launched. However, the CrunchPad turned into a fiasco and now it is slated for a launch with a new name, Joo Joo and a new heavy price tag of $400.

However, if Freescale Semiconductor is to be believed, then the $200 tablet device could be just around the corner as the company demonstrated its all new i.MX51 tablet device, which is said to be priced at $199 a piece. The demonstration given by the Freescale product manager during the Mobile World Congress, shows a tablet device that has also been given a camera and in the video, the operator works on the tablet with a keyboard and mouse. The all new tablet from Freescale is said to be compatible with three operating systems, such as, Google Android, Chromium OS and Linux and will be available in various colors.

The prototype version of the tablet showcased in the demo video is shown to have multiple input methods such as a keyboard, mouse and the most obvious, a touch screen. Now, at $200 price tag, if this device gives exactly what it portrays, then it would be a safe bet that, other tablet devices in the market will sue find a hard time competing with a $200 tablet packed with exciting features.
