If you wanted to know what the most inane gadget lately is, you should try and check out the so called Funny USB Memory Stick. What baffles me is that there is nothing funny about the USB stick except that it faintly reminds me of geeks who would try anything that is related to USBs and such technical stuff.
It apparently is inspired by the Japanese revolving lantern and comes with a transparent body that is being touted as “aesthetically appealing” from which I beg to differ. It shows different colours for different data and ink colour demonstrates images, green for movies, blue for documents and no lights for emptiness. According to manufacturers, it is “funny” because the lights move when the USB gadget is shaken.
If you find this funny, you really must be outta your mind, for I still do not understand why I took the trouble of writing about this almost ridiculous gadget. There is no information about its price and availability, and I am actually glad that there isn’t any such information. Why can’t we use the “boring” USB memory sticks that do the job just the same or even better?
