It won’t be long before Apple’s [AAPL] new tablet goes on sale, it turns out that the iPad may not ship with exactly the same Apple applications pre-installed that are currently on the iPhone.
According to John Gruber of Daring Fireball, the iPad will not feature the Calculator, Clock, and Stocks application that are currently shipped with the iPhone.
Apparently the reason these applications will be left out of the Apple iPad is that Steve Jobs decided to ditch them as they didn’t function exactly the way he wanted them to on the iPads larger screen.
There was speculation that these applications would be available as a free download from the Apple App Store, although it now seems that this wont be the case, at least when the iPad launches, Apple may offer new versions of these application for the iPad when they have been re-designed for the larger screen.
