LaCie has teamed up with designer Philippe Starck and created two new external hard drives which they have just released.The front of the drives have a touch sensitive molten metal looking front and are encased in 3mm aluminum cases.
The desktop drive connects to Macs and Windows PCs through USB but, like most larger drives need an external power supply. It comes in 1TB and 2TB capacities with an automatic backup features. The mobile drives have a built in retractable USB cable.
No release date has been given as yet but the prices will be around $130 for the1TB desktop drive, the 2TB modelwill cost $250 and the portabel 320GB capacity will cost $100, while the 500GB model is priced at $140.
