Xperia X2 Smartphone Announced by Sony Ericsson - - A Tough Competition Ahead for Blackberry & iPhone


Sony Ericsson has announced their Xperia X2 smartphone which the company hopes will help in competing against other high end devices such as the Blackberry and iPhone.

The Xperia X2 will ship with a 4GB micro SD memory card, 13 pre-loaded panels and an 8.1MP digital camera that supports autofocus, image stabilization and geotagging. The new phone will be one of the first mobile phones to include Microsoft’s Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system and will come preloaded with Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, Microsoft Office Mobile and Internet Explorer Mobile.

Other notable features of the smartphone include a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard, 3.2-inch TFT touchscreen display, Wi-Fi and DNLA certification, Google search/maps integration and TV out.

The Xperia X2 will go on sale in the fourth quarter of this year with no indication at this time about pricing.
