Utah-based Hydro Engineering has already got a name for itself by developing “green” water systems that save water from flowing down the drain when it can easily be recycled and reused. The company has announced the development of an instant car wash system that doesn’t waste water.
The vehicle that is brought for washing is driven up onto the Hydropad wash rack. Water used for washing the vehicle is sent to a recycling system that recycles waste water and sends it back to the wash brush that is used for cleaning the vehicle. A Hydroblaster pressure washer connected to fresh water is used to rinse the recycled water from the car.
The process doesn’t allow water to flow down the drain, as all of it is stored in a recycling system for future use. The amount of water that is lost due to evaporation is supplemented by a small amount of freshwater.
