THE EXILIM EX-Z450 AND EX-Z90 DIGITAL CAMERAS FROM CASIO

Casio have announced the launch of 2 new cameras from their Exilim range of cameras. The Exilim EX-Z450 and EX-Z90 cameras both feature a 12 megapixel sensor and are both slim in size. Both are also capable of capturing HD video at a resolution of 720p.

A new feature on both of the cameras is Intelligent AF (auto focus) which uses improved face detection algorithms and other algorithms to detect other objects and then automatically focus on them if needed. In Casio’s words… it “automatically detects the photo subject even if it is not a human face,” and should automatically adjust exposure and focus to best capture the non-human (or human) subject.

The Exilim EX-Z450 uses a 12.1 megapixel sensor along with the Exilim Engine 4.0 image processor. The Z450 is the slightly higher spec of the two new camera’s and has a sensor-shift image stabilizer built in as well as a 28mm wide-angle 4x zoom lens with a 3.0 inch LCD display. This camera can also capture images at 10 frames per second although it does lower image quality to achieve that.

The Exilim EX-Z90 comes with a 3x optical zoom lens equivalent to a 35mm to 105mm lens and has a 2.7 inch LCD display.

The EX-Z450 will cost $199.99 when lauched while the sligtely lower spect EX-Z90 will cost $149.99.
