A new single chip that has been developed by Spreadtrum Communications will give the ability to mobile phone manufacturers to create phones that are capable of accessing up to 4 SIM cards simultaneously.
The new SC6600L6 single chip solution or ‘Quad-SIM solution’ is another invention resulting from Spreadtrum Communications continuing effort of technology innovation. Explained Dr. Leo Li, Spreadtrum’s CEO & President.
The new SC6600L6 chip allows 4 GSM SIM cards to run simultaneously in standby mode within one phone. Supporting : dual SIM, triple SIM, and Quad-SIM in a single set of baseband and RF chip together with an improved graphic user interface for Quad-SIM.
