Full HD Media Centre - - Gives You a Home Theatre Unit Without Requiring a PC

This Full HD Media Centre gives you a home theatre unit without requiring a PC. It’s not the most stylish thing you’ve ever seen but it will take a 3.5″ SATA hard drive up to 2GB in size and will play back at 720p, 1080i and 1080p over HDMI 1.3 along with coaxial or optical S/PDIF audio. It’s networkable via 10/100 Ethernet or 802.11n as well as having a USB port and a memory card reader. If you’re old school then there’s also component and RCA connections.

The nifty bit is that’s UPNP compatible, runs Samba for network connectivity and it can move files around on your network so you don’t have to stream or swap hard drives around. You can control the unit via the web interface backend where you can set up the RSS feeds, Flickr and Picasa web albums and when you’re done kick back and surf YouTube from the lounge. Oh and there’s a remote control of course. The media player can read anything from jpegs to divx, xvid, mpeg, mp4, mov, mvk, mp3, wav, aac, ogg and wma. Best of all, it’s only US$100.

This HDD multimedia player handles up to a 2TB HDD hard disk drive and supports several display resolutions that include 720P, 1080i, 1080p at (1920X1080). Although this 1080p Media Carrier is designed to allow users to implement a much more efficient media system in their homes, it is also designed to meet the user’s expectations in providing a simpler and convenient method of accessing the internet directly without the need of a computer.
