At the MIX 2010, Microsoft Corporation had finally introduced and lifted the veil over one of the most anticipated mobile services from Microsoft, Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. Since the Zune Marketplace, consumers had been anxiously awaiting the introduction of a new online application store from Microsoft, with which they could acquire all the applications and updates in one place. Along with the applications, the all new Windows Phone 7 Marketplace will also provide the users with updates to the apps as well as games and podcasts.
One of the salient features of the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace is the option of getting an application, first on a trial basis and later the users can purchase the app from the online store. However, the users will most likely not be able to install and run third party applications, as Microsoft has announced that, the Windows Phone 7 series will not support application taken from the WP7 Marketplace. This in turn reflects the policies enforced by Apple on its iPhone series, and with Microsoft also now restraining the application to the WP7 Marketplace, the only platforms left, that would allow the user to run third party apps are, Android, BlackBerry OS and webOS.
