Skype for mobile phones seems to be getting more popular, the latest company to add the VoIP service to their range of handsets is Nokia with the launch of Skype on their Symbian mobile phones.
Skype for Nokia’s Symbian handsets will work over 3G or WiFi, and Nokia have said that the following models are compatible with the application, Nokia E71, N96, N85, 5320, 6210 Navigator, 6220 classic, N78, N79, E63, E66, N82, E51, N95, N95 8GB, N81, N81 8GB, E90, E72, 5800 XpressMusic, N97, N97 mini, X6, and the 5530.
Skype also intends to bring their free Skype application to other Symbian based mobile phones as well as Nokia, and it looks like Sony Ericsson may be the next handset manufacturer to get Skype on their mobile phones.
The Skype for Nokia Symbian mobile phones application is available as a free download from the Nokia Ovi Store.
