"LG GW990" All New Smartphone Introduced By LG at CES 2010 - - Amazingly Powered by An Intel Moorestown Processor

The Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) is one of the major platforms where people get face to face with the latest in gadgets and technologies, from laptops, computers and tablets to mobile phones and smart phones etc. Keeping the CES spirit alive, LG Electronics, a leading name in the field of smart phones has unveiled an all mobile phone that, believe it or not is powered by an Intel Moorestown processor.

The all new LG GW990 smart phone comes in an altogether different league, as the device has shifted from the conventional Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is the primary source of power for just about every smart phone and the GW990 also sports the Moblin Linux operating system. This latest gadget from LG is sporting a very impressive 4.8 inch touchscreen display, providing an amazing 1024 x 768 display resolution, with a 5 mega pixel camera. However, the battery life of the device seems to be a bit of concern, as the device is only offering upto 4 hours of talk time, but compensates for it by increasing the standby time to a whopping 300 hours with a 1850 mAh battery. The LG GW990 is also very much data effective, as the device provides 7.2Mbps HSDPA and 5.76Mbps HSUPA for high level data transfers.

Qualcomm on the other hand is also not far behind, as the company is running highly ambitious and innovative projects to its continuing reign over the smart phone market. Recently, at the CES 2010, Qualcomm unveiled its plans to develop a smartbook in conjunction with Hewlett Packard (HP), that would be powered by a Snapdragon processor and will be running on the Google Android mobile operating system.
