Normally when you purchase a laptop you have a trade off between power and battery life for mobility. Asus however have managed to combine both power and a 12 hour battery life in their new ‘green’ Asus UL80JT laptop. This new generation laptop has two CPUs, a high-end NVIDIA GeForce 310, and a humble Intel GMA together with a Intel Core i7 CPU.
It continually monitors the needs of the user, re-clocking the processor and switches between graphic cards to conserve power every second. Depending on the processes being carried out.
Other laptops have used a similar energy saver but the Asus UL80JT is different in that nothing needs to be adjusted. Its user-transparent switching happens straight out of the box when ever the user requires the power.
