Electrolux has just sent us some details of their latest design concept, the ‘Silence Amplified’ Vacuum Cleaner, which is a concept version of their recently released UltraSilencer Vacuum cleaner.
This concept vacuum cleaner has some interesting features, a built in iPod dock and a set of speakers so you can listen to your favourite tunes whilst you are doing the cleaning.
The vacuum cleaner is as silent as a normal conversation. Due to its silent properties, UltraSilencer is fully compatible with music on a normal volume, a fact that Silence Amplified is fully derived from. The concept vac comes with integrated iPod-dock and integrated speakers.
Electrolux has also conducted a lab study with a series of tests to see how people react when vacuuming to music.
One of the results is that vacuuming to music gets the job done faster, with less stress, and it can even result in some more calories burned.
Sounds like a great idea, depending on how quiet it is, I suppose it would be a good way to charge your iPod and listen to your favourite music whist you are doing some household chores.
Lets hope Electrolux put this into production, as it will be one more gadget that we will be able to plug our iPhone or iPod into.
