The newest model of SurvivaBall, the X7, is a global warming and disaster protection device that’s not for sale, not even at the advertised $100 million per copy price tag.
That’s because the SurvivaBall is the brainchild of the culture jamming Yes Men, a group of activists who practice what they call, identity correction by pretending to be powerful people and spokespersons for sell-known organizations like Halliburton offering technical solutions to all types of global problems.
Yes Men solutions are elaborate fakes and are all about drawing attention to corporate greed and deception and the fluff that passes as solutions for the general population. Some of their in-person spoof presentations have been so convincing that people have actually wanted to buy the imaginary products they’re pitching. They’ve even gone so far as to have fake newspapers printed and distributed to make their point.
"When the planet heats up, it will be time to slip into something more comfortable—like the SurvivaBall. A self-heating, self-cooling and self-powered pod, the SurvivaBall is designed by top scientists to weather all of the effects of climate change to keep its user alive through catastrophe. Even though it makes its occupant resemble a giant tick, it's also luxurious—"Like a gated community for one," claims the SurvivaBall's site. And only for the low price of $100 million!"
