As a child his parents took him frequently to Europe on board Pan Am and that is perhaps why it has left a lasting impression on his mind. He had saved cardboard linings, multiple rolls of recordings (I did not know they allowed recording on board planes!) and of course the audio selection on board.
The project took him 20 years and cost him $50,000 and that really is something for an obsession, isn’t it? He had to visit Death Valley several times to salvage Pan Am carcasses where flights are usually discarded after their lifetime is over. Anthony even offers his garage for conferences and if he ever invites you, you can be sure of getting yourself boarding passes of Pan Am as well. He is helluva crazy to do all this!
