Livia Marin's "Broken Things" Collection - - House-Hold Ceramic With Unique Poetic Designs

The phrase “for better or worse” takes on new meaning with the Livia Marin ‘Broken Things’ exhibition. I know I’m referring to inanimate objects, but after those heart-tugging IKEA commercials, I’ve come to realize that everything needs a little love.

Her first solo exhibition in the UK, the Livia Marin Broken Things collection is pretty self-explanatory. Showcasing run-of-the-mill household ceramics, each item has seen some wear and tear. According to the designer, “the fractures represent fatality and loss” but keeping each dilapidated object “stresses the relationship of care and continuation.” Very poetic.
