Power8 Workshop - - Portable, Multi-tool Workbench That Lets You Do All Kinds of DIY Projects

The Power8 Workshop is a portable, multi-tool workbench that lets you do all kinds of DIY things. It comes with four rechargeable power tools; a jigsaw, power drill, circular saw and a light. They each clip into a “Power Handle” which is a grip with an integrated 18V rechargeable battery. The Workshop comes with two handles so you can have one recharging while you use the other one.

If you need more precision, each of the tools (even the light) clips into the workbench with a blokey snap. The drill becomes a drill press, the circular saw becomes a table saw, the jigsaw becomes a scroll saw and the light becomes a light-on-a-stick.

Once the power tools are clipped into the workbench they are controlled via the integrated safety switches and powered by one of the power handles. When you’re done, pack all the tools back in the bag, drop the lot into the workbench and lug it back to the truck.

There are three different versions of the Power8 which vary according to whether you want accessories (drills and bits), what type of battery you want in the power handles and whether you want the tougher hammer drill or just the normal drill/driver.

The website has tonnes of info in it, including a video user manual. The only thing I couldn’t find was whether you can run the work bench off the mains as well as off battery. I assume you can’t. It’s for sale worldwide, US$474.99 from Sears and £243 from Toolstop UK plus many many other places.

The world’s first cordless workstation. Ideal for professional tradesmen and DIY enthusiasts, the set includes a stainless steel armored case which when combined with the four 18-volt cordless tools to transforms them into their powerful benchtop equivalents.
