Designed by Randall Marin, the Triclo is a conceptual design of what a tricycle can be in an urban environment. It uses an organic forms and contemporary trend to balance out in visual volume and mass. The idea behind the design was to create a tricycle with a different look to capture the attention of onlookers.
In addition to being a zero-emission vehicle, the design also encourages exercise thus keeping the rider fit. At the same time the concept design is important to not use much material so as to reduce the cost of the final product.
Most likely the vehicle won’t be fast, but in a time where the world is battling to find green and renewable sources of fuel to power our futuristic lifestyle, the use of pedal power seems an intelligent move over other expensive systems being developed.
The Triclo will also be designed from materials that can easily be recycled after they finish their service time, thus preventing tons of scrap from reaching the landfill.
