There isn’t anything that doesn’t excite us when it comes to designer Mac Funamizu and his intriguingly novel concept designs. Holograms are still in their infancy, but Mac has taken the liberty to design out a desktop that features a hologram. The novelty has got us a desk lamp out of which a black curtain hangs down to transform into a full-fledged 3D hologram desktop. Using tiny projectors to give off 3D hologram, the desktop lets the user pinch and drag browser windows and 3D objects, besides letting the user type out curled holograms as if he were using a typewriter.
Needing a mouse that syncs well with the 3D desktop, Mac’s got a unique mouse which on pressing the body downwards, sinks the cursor to go deep in the display and on releasing returns the cursor to the default position. The concept seems really exciting and if holograms are realized, which is a possibility; I’d definitely like a system as this for myself.
