The Fiat Sentiero concept from designer Dragos Prodan puts forward the idea of a pick-up truck fit for the European market. The concept was designed to fit-in with Fiat’s current design language, and incorporates certain traits of conventional Italian styling as well. The designer envisions three modes for the pickup to work in, a 2WD mode where the front wheels get all the power, an auto mode that will send power to the rear wheels as well, when required; and finally, the Lock Mode in which the concept works as an all wheel drive.
To be credible as a pickup truck, the Senteiro runs off a 3.0-l V6 diesel engine that offers 250hp. It is capable of towing weights up to 5291 lbs and its bed can carry a payload of 1807 lbs. Apart from the bed, there are also some lockable storage areas. These are located near the rear wheels, and a couple more at the rear of the bed and in the tailgate.
