A new study which scanned the brain of alcoholics -- including those who were able to quit drinking -- was able to isolate the part of the alcoholic's brain that doesn't read emotional cues properly.
This begs the classic chicken-and-egg question of whether alcohol abuse dulls emotional sensitivity, or if those who struggle to pick up facial cues are more likely to turn to drink.
Although, we have noticed that for some men, the all-too-keen ability to pick up on the facial cues of women is actually what pushes them to go on benders.
