BenQ has added a new compact digital camera to its range with the launch of the BenQ E1260 HDR. The BenQ E1260 HDR is slightly unique compared to other compact cameras as it features a HDR or High Dynamic Range shooting mode.
HDR imaging combines an over exposed and under exposed photo together, and the contrast between the dark and light areas creates a greater dynamic range and produces a photograph with vibrant striking colors.
This sort of thing can normally be done in Photoshop and other imaging software, but BenQ has decided to take the work out of it and do it all for you directly in the camera, the photo below gives you the idea how it works.
Other specifications on the BenQ E1260 HDR camera include a 12 megapixel sensor, the ability to shoot HD video in 720p, a built in accelerometer and a range of other feature.
The BenQ E1260 HDR will be available in May 2010 ans it will come in two colors, blue and gray, there are no details on pricing as yet.
