Court-ordered Alcohol Education Session Was Missed by Lindsay Lohan on Sunday

Lindsay Lohan did not attend one of her court-ordered alcohol education sessions on Sunday.

"Lindsay wanted to go to class today. She had every intention of going, but the staff at the program were unable to accommodate her," a source close to the actress tells media. "The head of the program had a prior commitment to attend a graduation, and that's who Lindsay sees.

"Lindsay truly wanted to do this today," the source says.

Lindsay and her powerhouse attorney Shawn Chapman Holley will be back in front of Judge Marsha Revel Monday morning in Beverly Hills. It's expected that a probation violation hearing will be scheduled, and that Judge Revel will formally tell Lilo that she is not to consume alcohol, is to wear a SCRAM monitoring bracelet, and undergo random drug testing, pending the hearing.

Lindsay's lawyer arranged for the posting of Lindsay's $100,000 bail last week, avoiding an arrest when Lindsay landed back at LAX from Cannes.

Shawn Chapman Holley pointed out last week that Lindsay is in substantial compliance with terms of her probation, having completed 10 of 13 classes, and Lindsay is on track to finish on time in July.

Lindsay's cause was also bolstered by the good progress report she received from the program. However, Judge Revel seemed unimpressed, as Lindsay didn't follow her order to attend the class once a week.

A Treat For Wine Lovers - - 18 Liters Wine Bottle Up for Auction at Sotheby’s Next Week

Do you love anything ale? And love to collect all things wine? Including wine of course! If wine is your thing and if you mind not a bit about through some precious cash to grab a collectible, here is a large bottle of it you can take home.

Large meaning, a bottle that holds 18 full liters of wine, a significantly more quantity than the normal 750 ml that people are used to buying.

It is expected to go under the hammer at Sotheby’s next week. And is part of the Finest and Rarest Wines and Vintage Port auction that will happen there. The bottle weighs 25 kilograms, is 75 cm high and has a circumference of 70 cm. Looking at it is one thing, and holding it another different challenge. The phenomenally rare wine bottle, as Sotheby’s officials put it, can pour into 144 glasses.

Wednesday is when the wine among other rare and fine wines, will go up for bidding. What is not clear, is once you acquire this exquisite piece of innovation, what could exactly be the degree of difficulty in tilting it in the perfect angle to pour into a glass? It would probably take a bar-tender with superb skills to take on that uphill task!

A chic bar at home is your perfect savior in times of snobs for friends who you must entertain and split hairs to impress. Accente Levo could help you get those envious looks for once through its sheer look.

The sideboard that can hide away drinks has been designed for optimum function with an effect near dramatic when you open it. Designer Martin Ballenda has ensured that it does not occupy much space while still spelling style and class. With a simple touch enough to open the panels stocked up with drinks, you can safely say some engineering brain has worked smart at the design.

Martin has used a fine aluminum border that frames the loom panels to guarantee seamless contours. The other good feature about Levo, is that it can fit into not just a contemporary living space, but add a dash to home interiors with the classic or bohemian looks too. The side panel comes with a price tag of $4,670

You know what I like to see? I like to see people who are extremely wealthy and who have titles before their names get really drunk and make fools of themselves. The Very Rich and Very Drunk Photos are tailored for me (and possibly you too).

Taken at Britain’s Day at Royal Ascot, these photos document those who are in the upper crusts of society getting down and dirty—literally. The Very Rich and Very Drunk Photos go to show that no matter where or who you think you are, when you are drunk, you are still just a drunk.

Helene Uffren’s Designed Wine Bottles - - Multi-Purpose Reusable Item

Once used, wine bottles are usually discarded. Of course, there are people who re-use them to make masterpieces. Helene Uffren’s line of work is just one fine example of this. When I say reuse, she has just not made an eye candy of recycled art out of these wine bottles. She has created them in such a way that the bottles have a new identity and new use. She glues the top halves of wine bottle to the free blown bases, which she has designed. This helps her in creating ‘hybrid multi-purpose’ bottles. Further, bottom halves are fixed with free blown mini bottles as stoppers on top, creating multi-functional food jars.

“Don’t Drink Yourself Fat” - - Campaign War Against Soda and Other Sweetened Drinks in NYC by Health Department

In New York, there is a campaign war against soda and other sweetened drinks. The city’s health department has launched ‘a public-awareness campaign, which includes posters in the subway system and a multilingual Health Bulletin’ that began on the end of August and will run for three months.

The new campaign asks New Yorkers if they’re “Pouring On the Pounds.” Highlighting the health impact of sweetened drinks, this is the Health Department’s tactic ‘to encourage consumers to choose beverages with less sugar.’

Says New York City Health Commissioner Thomas A. Farley, “Sugary drinks shouldn’t be a part of our everyday diet. Drinking beverages loaded with sugars increases the risk of obesity and associated problems, particularly diabetes but also heart disease, stroke, arthritis and cancer.”

This war on soda is explosive since soft drinks are part of everyday life in metropolitan areas such as New York. The situation must be really bad for the city to slam head on against the soda industry. The health and diet statistics may have been enough reason to launch such a campaign: ‘On average, Americans now consume 200 to 300 more calories each day than we did 30 years ago. Nearly half of these extra calories come from sugar-sweetened drinks. When Health Department researchers surveyed adult New Yorkers about their consumption of soda and other sweetened drinks, the findings showed that more than 2 million drink at least one sugar-sweetened soda or other sweetened beverage each day – at as much as 250 calories a pop. Daily consumption was highest among Bronx residents, followed by residents of Staten Island, Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. Sweetened-beverage consumption is higher among men than among women, and especially prevalent among 18- to 44-year-olds and among adult blacks and Hispanics.’

Desperate times need desperate measures, hence.

The citizens of New York are confronted with a visual of a soda, cola, sports and energy drink, or sweetened iced tea being poured into a glass. What gets poured are gooey, yucky blobs of fat, the kind that is suctioned off during a liposuction procedure, thereby evoking images of obesity. The cautionary reminder goes: “Don’t drink yourself fat” with these high-calorie beverages.

Revel Custom Wine Cellar System - - Amazing Wine Cellars Designed By Wine-Lover, Jim Cash

Former Mt. Pleasant resident Jim Cash took his love of wines to another level by designing amazing wine cellars that served not just the purpose of preserving the wines until they were to be consumed but also to exhibit the bottles by those who enjoyed collecting fine wines.

Wine connoisseurs understand the importance of saving the finest wines until they are perfectly ready to be consumed and also share a love for storing the best of them till their time has come. Traditional cork systems of wine storage, however, leave much to be inspired and Cash designed the Revel Custom Wine Cellar system as a pulpit to showcase his revered wines.

The Revel Custom system features sliding drawers that allow individuals to stock multiple bottles together and also identify about 70 percent of the wines in the cellar without removing any of the bottles. Even those shelves placed above eye-level are created in such a way that you only require to remove a bottle when it is needed. Cash’s company, Revl Custom Wine Cellars builds customised wine cellars in this new manner for those who care as much about their wine cellars as they do for their wines.

'Alcoholics' Brain Can't Read Emotional Cues!

A new study which scanned the brain of alcoholics -- including those who were able to quit drinking -- was able to isolate the part of the alcoholic's brain that doesn't read emotional cues properly.

This begs the classic chicken-and-egg question of whether alcohol abuse dulls emotional sensitivity, or if those who struggle to pick up facial cues are more likely to turn to drink.

Although, we have noticed that for some men, the all-too-keen ability to pick up on the facial cues of women is actually what pushes them to go on benders.

CHECK THE QUALITY OF ALCOHOL WITH ROTGUTONIX CHEMICAL SENSOR

It’s finally Friday and if you’re headed out tonight to get your fix of alcohol, you want to make sure that you’re getting the alcohol you paid for. You don’t want some screwed up concoction that has something besides what you ordered. It’s Friday, if you want to get plastered, plastered is what you should get and you want to do it right. This Rotgutonix will check to see if there is rotgut or adulterated alcohol in your drink.

I’m not sure that it’ll help you get your money back, but you can cause one heck of a scene, which might be enough for them to be inclined to get you to quiet down. If you have to pay good money to get a drink, you should get what you pay for. The way it works is you dip it into your drink, it will then display the type of alcohol or brand on the small screen. If it’s not a good alcohol it will show a skull and crossbones to let you know that you aren’t getting quality alcohol. There is a product page for this device, but it appears that you’re going to have to actually contact them to find out how to get one of these.

DRINKING GAMES -- FUN IN THE GLASS

Like drinking games? How about the Loaded Dice? As with any good and self-respecting drinking game, this one is extremely easy to learn - all you need to do is fill the shot glass and slam it down, performing whatever you need to do according to the throw of the dice. The more intoxicated you get, the less inhibitions you have to perform according to the instructions given! This will definitely help you grow a pot belly in no time if you knock back a considerable number of glasses each time you play, but at least you have good fun while you’re at it!

MADD -- MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVING

Lee Waters’ hard-hitting drunk driving campaign for MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) combines common excuses intoxicated people use to justify getting behind the wheel, a photo of a grisly car collision and crime scene details spelled across caution tape like a news ticker.

The overall effect of Lee Waters’ drunk driving campaign for MADD is incredibly sobering. These harsh reminders of the dangers of driving while intoxicated can’t be ignored.
