The Consumer Electronics Show 2010 (CES) has become the launch platform for some of the most innovative technologies for the future and in the same aspect, Razer, one of the biggest names in gaming hardware has announced an all new next generation motion sensing gaming technology in collaboration with Sixense Entertainment.
Although motion sensing gaming isn’t anything new, especially since the launch of the Nintendo Wii, yet the latest innovation from Razer calls for more comfortable and interactive game consoles, that would take motion gaming to new heights. The new Razer gaming controllers will are being designed on the principle of electromagnetic fields that will be used to track the users’ movements. This will enable the gamers to play flawlessly on PCs and the controllers will be able to ascertain precise movement upto a millimeter for positioning of the devices and to a degree for the orientation of the controllers.
Currently, Razer along with the gaming behemoth, Valve and Sixense are experimenting with prototype state of the art controllers on the latest Valve title, Left 4 Dead 2, which is co-op based first person shooting games and as of now is utilizing one of the biggest leaps taken in the field of motion sensing technology for the PC platform.
According to Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff (Razer, USA),
“Razer is extending its vision for PC gaming by partnering with Sixense on this exciting new endeavor. The magnetic motion sensor technology combines precision and speed with the freedom of other motion sensing technologies to fill the gap between consoles and PC in terms of human interface devices.”
