When you think of Brazil, soon the image of Rio de Janeiro comes to mind. Or the beaches of northeastern Brazil. However, near to the biggest city in Brazil (Sao Paulo) you can find Guaruja, a place where many rich and powerful in Brazil can be found in their Ferraris, Porsches and Masseratti circulating freely.
In addition to the billionaires, even the Brazilian president usually spends his vacations there, in Guaruja, on the southern coast of Sao Paulo. Lula was with his family in Fort Andradas, which belong to the Army. The president gave no interviews and did not receive official visits. Moving the entrance of the fort was only hire staff and curious, who left gifts for the president. On Thursday, Lula was photographed by two journalists while taking a swim.
The photojournalists were even arrested by the Navy, but eventually released. According to the Navy, they did not respect the security perimeter of the president, about 200 meters, and were escorted back to sea by a boat.
But since money attracts money, even the largest stock exchange in Brazil (BOVESPA) decided to set up a “mobile stock exchange” to attract more investors.
Those passing by the beach of the Bay, in Guaruja find the “Exchange Mobile”: a van with business developers to explain to the uninitiated how to invest in the stock market.
The idea is to nationalize the entire program, including its version of summer, to atract investors. According to the statement released by the BOVESPA last Friday, São Paulo is the leader in the absolute number of individuals, with 247 thousand investors.
Many economists expect this year the BOVESPA will be the most profitable investment in the world. In 2009, investors (domestic and international) have seen their investments have a profit of 80% on BOVESPA.
