Veer is a story of bravery, love and avenge. It has been made to show the legend of ancient time and love. The movie depicts India under the rule of British. The Kings of India easily accepts Britishers’ ‘divide and rule policy’.
But there is a community called Pindari who prefers death over disrespect. They live till their last breath for saving independence. Salman appears as the strongest and bravest Pindari soldiers named Veer.
He deeply falls in love with enemy’s daughter Yashodhara (played by beautiful model Zarine Khan). Veer has to fight against the British ruler, King of Madavgarh (Jackie Shroff) as well as his own jealous tribesmen. King of Madavgarh has cheated Pindaris to please the British. Prithvi Singh (Mithun Chakroborty) as the head of the Pindaris has promised to avenge for the deception for his tribe and land. In the battle field where cannons roar, swords clash and blood soaked land; Veer stands head.
Salman Khan takes absolute precedence amongst everything else and roars through a powerful performance. He befits the character of warrior and his sturdy image helps him a lot in this respect. Mithun Chakravarthy acts in his own way to add life to his character. Zarine Khan with her similar look with Salman’s girlfriend Katrina Kaif has done a good job in her debut film.
Veer movie will surly introduce a new era for Salman Khan in Bollywood. This is very different from his recent released movies : ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Main Aur Mrs Khanna’.
There are many critics towards the movie about the costume of ‘Veer’ that doesn’t matches to the historical evidence. In ‘Veer’ thousands of real horses and other animals are used for authenticity and making the battlefield more real. 19th century’s fearless warrior is expected to steal the heart of 21st century’s audience.
