If you thought mud wrestling was hot, think again. At the World Gravy Wrestling Championship recently held in Lancashire, competitors attempted to pin each other in a gigantic pool of out-of-date gravy.
More than 1,000 people attended the event and over 2000 litres of Bisto gravy was used. The winner was 30-year-old Joel Hicks, but you can call him by his competing name, “Stone Cold Steve Bisto.”
After being hosed down by the local fire crews, Stone Cold Steve Bisto commented, “It is a bit crazy - it is the third time I have done this event, so to finally win it is fantastic. The final was really tough and it is much more difficult than you think. My technique was really just to grab hold of the guy and hope for the best.”
Carol Lowe, the landlady of the pub at which the championship took place, said, “All the proceeds are going to the East Lancashire Hospice, so it is just a nice day for everyone involved.”
Sure it is, unless you participated in the fights and didn’t win. In that case, you just have a sticky mess to deal with.
