Who can ever refute nature’s call for a long time? Indeed, it is the most difficult task to do so, perhaps the heaviest load to carry. As a result, many people (especially men) prefer to visit a dark spot in the street to pee. This makes the environment unhygienic and stinking. In order to maintain a clean and hygienic environment, designer Joa Herrenknecht has come up with “Pee-Tree”, an object, which is made in the shape of a tree.
Pee-Tree is an open public toilet for men that men can use to urinate themselves. It is made in bright white ceramic. This is purposely done so that men can spot it from far off distance. Interestingly, the urine is directly flushed down to the underground sewage canal to avoid the foul odor.
While I understand that the Pee-Tree will be helpful for anybody during emergency situations but I am not sure how many men will actually feel very comfortable to pee on the street where thousands of people will be walking around. Unless one is sort of an exhibitionist, most men will have qualms about peeing in the street.
