Harnessing the natural source of energy, South Korean designer Ju Young Kim has come up with a smart yet cost-effective design that which can be deployed in far-flung, but at the same time sunny, areas with ease. Hailed as “Light Roll,” the lighting system hangs out to accumulate the solar energy during day and turns it into electricity, via power converter, to illuminate your dark nights. Finished with a silicon plate coated with solar panels, the solar powered light rolls to take the shape of a lamp and enlightens the LED lighting strip, located on the side of a silicon plate. Four hours of charging keeps the lamp up and going for up to six hours. The Light Roll also touts a flexible structure that allows easy rolling and durability.
