Evolved from the need for a compact and green city car for the metropolis, the “Bee” by designer Sooraj Gopinath is a compact vehicle for everyday city commutation. Accommodating two passengers, the compact size and shape of the urban car makes steering easy even through narrow streets. The small car, hoping for a GREEN tomorrow, runs on fuel cells and solar energy generated by its energy efficient glazing, as the side and rear glazing are made with transparent solar modules, while the top of the dashboard is covered with amorphous solar modules. In addition, the Bee replaces the conventional controls with the user friendly and customizable touch screen controls embedded on the surface of the dashboard. The Bee also incorporates features like the trendy LED headlamps and tail lamps and enclosed wheels, together with streamlined exterior that allows a lower aerodynamic drag within the shape constraints. In short, the Bee is a small and smart city car for everyday use.
