Trees have the natural ability to breathe in carbon-dioxide and breathe out the life sustaining oxygen. With the rise in population and deforestation reaching high numbers, the number of planet-saving trees keeps falling day by day.
Planting of more trees are certainly necessary but the discovery of other ways in which we can reduce the carbon-dioxide content in the environment is also important. That is where the carbon-capturing artificial trees come into the picture. These fake trees have the power to work 2000 times faster than their real counterparts when it comes to cleansing the air of CO2. The artificial trees do not just filter the air; they capture the CO2 from the air and put it into storage. Scientists are now claiming that the best way to battle the greenhouses gases is by building a forest of artificial trees over the next one or two decades.
UK based Institution of Mechanical Engineers states that artificial trees are one of the three most practical geoengineering solutions to battle the climate change. The scientists also claim that these trees are extremely practical and could be brought into production soon. They propose to build a forest of 100,000 artificial trees.
